November 23, 2020: Ethanol in a Midwestern Clean Fuels Policy

Ethanol is considered a low carbon fuel under clean fuel policies. The webinar provided attendees opportunities to gain insights from experts in several key areas: hear about the Midwestern Clean Fuels Policy Initiative, learn how a clean fuels program can benefit the ethanol industry, gain a better understanding of how ethanol pathways would generate credits, see analysis modeling credit revenues in various scenarios, hear from industry representatives across the ethanol supply chain on how a clean fuels policy could support ethanol initiatives in the Midwest. Learn more about the framework for a Midwestern Clean Fuels Policy by downloading a copy of the White Paper here, published in January 2020.

April 8, 2020: What’s in the CARES Act and Does My Company Qualify for Stimulus Assistance?

In response to the economic fallout from the spread of the coronavirus across the U.S., Congress enacted the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, a stimulus package designed to infuse $2 trillion into the economy through loans, direct payments, expansion of unemployment benefits and tax relief which was signed into law by President Trump on March 27. While the CARES Act does not contain ethanol-specific provisions, there are certain programs which could benefit ethanol producers and other industry stakeholders. The American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE), along with experts from accounting and consulting firm Christianson PLLP and agribusiness financial services provider CoBank, provide an assessment of the CARES Act from the outlook of the ethanol industry — what’s in it and how do I seek possible opportunities?
